God Of War is one of the best hack and slash games out there, but unfortunately God Of War is a trilogy that had come to the end with the release of God Of War III. Luckily for the fans Sony has confirmed that there will be 6th installment of the game called God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta. First of all, you should know that Ghost Of Sparta is not the sequel of the God Of War III and it actually happens between God Of War and God Of War II, providing the missing information about the main protagonist Kratos. Apparently, Sony decided that it’s not the time to end the franchise and decided to publish another game exclusively for PSP. Therefore, Sony has hired the same developer team, Ready At Dawn Studios, that developed previous God Of War for PSP.

Just like the Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta is PlayStation Portable exclusive and it will not be available for other platforms. As for the story, it is set in ancient Greece and it follows demigod Kratos and explains his rise of power, just after the end of God Of War. Kratos is trying to save himself from the nightmares that haunt him and tries to prove his worthiness to the Gods. In this game Kratos will reveal history of the lost world as well as his own dark past, so we will finally have to chance to learn more about Kratos’s past, family, scars and tattoos. Once again, you’re armed with Blades of Chaos that you’ll use to cut down your way through the armies of monsters in your well-known and brutal manner.

As for the gameplay it should be similar to the previous games and offer a lot of third person action. Besides button mashing and brutal combos, you’ll have to solve puzzles and quick time events. As for the amazing boss sequences Ghost of Sparta will have even more boss encounters than the previous games. In addition, we are hoping to see new weapon system, new powers and the navigational abilities that previous games lack. Another great thing about this game is that it will feature more enemies on the screen, which means more intense action for the players. According to the stats, there should be around 25 percent more gameplay than in the previous game, Chains of Olympus.

Ready At Dawn Studios has been working on Ghost of Sparta since September 2008 and the only information that we have is that we will see this game later this year. I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to see God Of War Ghost of Sparta presentation on this year’s E3. Developers did an amazing job and they even provided detailed graphics for this game. This game really uses the maximum from your PSP and provides amazing graphics. Characters look far more realistic and textures are more detailed than before, so it’s enough to say that new God Of War looks amazing.

So what can I say about Ghost of Sparta? Ready At Dawn Studios did an amazing work on this game. Action looks better and more intense, there are more enemies that you can kill with new and brutal ways and of course, my favorite, more boss sequences. Graphics is improved, textures are more detailed, and story is interesting, so what more can you ask for from a game? This game is the missing link between the two God Of War games so you make sure that you don’t miss this piece of art. God of War is one of the best hack and slash action adventure game on the market and Ghost of Sparta definitely lives up to the fame of previous games so we can’t wait for the official release.
